WhatsApp users were previously able to share channel posts in private chat messages and groups. However, sharing was not allowed in status updates. With the new WhatsApp update, users will now be able to share posts on channels in their WhatsApp status.
Channel shares can be shared in situations with the new WhatsApp update
A total of four new features related to the channel feature were announced last month. Some of these were already being tested in previous months in beta versions of the app. The company has also been working for some time to enable people to share channel posts via status updates. The new WhatsApp update offers this sharing function to its users.
An FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page created by WhatsApp explained how a channel update can be pushed to the user’s status page on Android , iOS and Web/desktop apps.
On Android, users simply long press on the post they want to share and tap the right-facing arrow in the upper right corner of the screen. You will then go to the Forward screen and WhatsApp Statuses will appear at the top. This will be followed by people you frequently communicate with and recent conversations. Thus, it is possible to share channel posts in both chat messages and status at the same time.
Although the FAQ page claims that this feature is also available on WhatsApp Web , this does not appear to be the case. As of now, users can only share channel posts with groups or contacts on the stable version of WhatsApp Web, but this may change soon with a new WhatsApp update.
